The Claremont Colleges is a consortium of five undergraduate and two graduate institutions, all autonomous and all but one located on adjacent campuses, with a combined enrollment of about 7,000 students. The group includes Pomona College (established in 1887), Claremont Graduate University (1925), Scripps College (1926), Claremont McKenna College (1946), Harvey Mudd College (1955) and Pitzer College (1963). The seventh member of the consortium, the Keck Graduate Institute of Applied Life Sciences (1997), is located nearby.
