Theatre Major/Minor

Students may select a general theatre concentration, or an emphasis in performance, design, dramaturgy or directing.

The core courses for all theatre majors and minors are:

• Introduction to Acting (THEA 1) or Acting for Non-Actors (THEA 3)
• Visual Arts of the Theatre (THEA 2)
• Theatre Crafts Sets/Costumes/Properties (THEA 20A)
  or Management/Lights/Sound (THEA 20B)
• A Course on the History of Theatre (THEA 110, THEA 111, or THEA 115)
• Two Theatre Production Crew Assignments (THEA 52)

A Theatre Minor must also complete an additional two courses in any area of theatre.

A student with a General Theatre Major must also complete:

• Modern Dance (DANCE 10a or 10b)
• A specialized movement class such as Kabuki (THEA 19), Mime (THEA 13), or Exploration of Cultual Style (DANCE 150)
• An additional two Theatre History Courses (THEA 110, THEA 111, or THEA 115)
• An additional two Theatre Production Crew Assignments (THEA 52)
• Senior Seminar (THEA 190)
• Senior Thesis (THEA 191)
